From January ’08, Ferrino, leading outdoor equipment company and always by the side of those who love to experience every aspect of the mountains, will own the Baldas brand; this is Italy’s only snowshoe manufacturer and a company that has always stood out for its constant research into new solutions and its full range of products specifically for the winter excursion enthusiast.
In fact, for more than 30 years, Baldas has been synonymous with quality snowshoes, since when, in 1975, Monsieur Baldas decided to dedicate his life’s work to his great passion. In terms of innovation, Baldas was the first ever company to use plastic compounds with a ceramic base to make the shoe lighter and at the same time, able to withstand low temperatures.
Today Baldas continues to capitalise on research into new technology as well as on products of quality. All moulding operations and the entire production cycle are based in Italy, and products are of the highest quality.
A range of excellent quality, with models to suit every excursion requirement.
TREK: a model with an exclusive frame in aluminium and mixed plastic to create an extremely strong, hardwearing snowshoe that is lightweight and flexible and therefore, the ideal shoe for the alpine slopes. Truly one of a kind.
LYS: the top snowshoe in the Baldas range. Compared to competitors’ models, Lys has a greater load-bearing capacity (up to 100 kg) and, for its size, it floats better on the snow. A top-quality relationship when it comes to capacity, grip and comfortable stride.
Today Ferrino continues to follow a path of constant innovation and technological research, associated with the true philosophy of the “montagnard” [mountain dweller], based on tradition, reliability and a human dimension.
Baldas products are created and tested on the very same mountains where they will be used, a testimony to the ties to the area which are vital when it comes to making products that are constantly suited to and best meet the needs of the winter trekker.
In a period where the economic situation is not exactly enthusiastic, Ferrino is showing a countertrend by making significant investments into a new business and keeping production in Piedmont.
A product from our very own mountains. Made in Italy.
